Yes its been over a whole year now since we all got told to stay inside, here are a few tips and tricks to maintain a healthy mind and lifestyle

1. First and most importantly, get some fresh air every single day!
Wake up open your windows, grab a coffee or whatever you drink to wake you up in the morning and be thankful you made it another day.
Going for a walk every day can boost your mental health dramatically, as the weather starts to improve get your free dose of vitamin d from the sun.
I live by a beach so I love taking my dog for a walk and filling my lungs with sea air.

2. Find a hobby
Having a hobby / interest can really help with those “boring” days, for whatever reason (mostly rain) stops you from going outside, then find something to focus on, this not only gives you pleasure doing these things but gives you something to be proud of at the end of the day and gain a sense of achievement.
. Gaming
. Reading
. knitting
. Cleaning
. Blog writing
. colouring
You get the idea….. 💡

3. Spend time with family or loved ones
Since the pandemic started we have been bombarded with loads of different rules and regulations, “you can go outside and meet family”, “you can’t meet anyone”, “you can meet 6 people”, “you must work from home”
Now lockdown is easing a bit and we have a clear path out of this mess
Invite your family round and have a coffee in the garden, go meet up with people outside (maintaining social distancing rules) of course. There is nothing better than a hug from a family member you havent seen in a while 💜

4. Music
Music has played a huge part in the past year of me being locked down, when your cleaning turn on the alexa or open Spotify or any of your favourite music streaming apps and blast it!
Happy upbeat songs can change your whole mood for the day and even give you that extra kick you need to clean up (lets face it none of us like cleaning)
Recommendation: “happy” – pharell Williams (listen to it without smiling) 😉

5. Last but not least, look after yourself!
I’ve found myself slipping lately with housework, showering, and all the basic stuff.
Put on that new dress, wear that smart new shirt your nan gave you for Christmas and dress up, shower and that alone can make you feel 10x better than slouching around in your joggers doing nothing all day, believe me that does not work and you spiral into a dark world of depression, the mental health services at the moment are crap so dont let yourself slip.
I hope you enjoyed my 5 things to do in lockdown let me know in the comments if there’s anything that’s personally helped you and il add it to this post (all credit to you) of course
